As promised in my last newsletter, here is more information on the event I am facilitating this week! If you’ve been following my travels this year, you know how much I love ecstatic dance, and how I recently started experimenting with running my own workshops to combine dance and journaling. I’m very excited to host one in New York, so if you are in the area, please come! You can sign up here.
It will be an evening of ecstatic dance, meditation and guided journaling. This will be a chance to slow down and connect before the holidays. If you haven't been to an ecstatic dance before, here are some guidelines!
*No talking on the dance floor
*Please do not use your phone, so we can be fully present!
*No shoes when dancing! #freethefoot (this is a movement I am trying to make happen)
*No drugs or alcohol. This is a sober dance party :)
*Always make sure you have someone's consent when dancing!
Wear clothes you feel comfortable dancing and sweating in, and if you can please bring a notebook and pen!
Following the dance, there will be a live performance by the very talented Gabriel Jiménez. (IG: Gabrieljimenez.music) Gabriel Jiménez multi-instrumentalist musician and music therapist with years of experience, originally from Mexico. His path through the practice of Yoga inspires this high vibration sound in service to life, to achieve self-realization of being. From the approach he has had with ancestral cultures and medicines, together with the experience acquired in trips around different parts of the world his training as a musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist is born; sharing high vibration instruments from different cultures such as: Handpan, tibetan bowls, ocarina, native american flutes, didgeridoo, guitar and more.
